The Four Agreements                                                                         By: don Miguel Ruiz

Simple in principle, yet hard in practice ‘The Four Agreements” given in this book are a road map to inner peace, compassion, happiness and love.

1. Be impeccable with your word

2. Don’t take anything personally

3. Don’t make assumptions

4. Always do your best

The simplistic way these principles are explained, how not following them affects your life and those around you; and how you can adhere to them are life changing. A Shaman I
was studying under recommended this book to me over three years ago, as a part of my course work. It has since served as one of my many reference points while I navigate through life, choosing to grow and live my best life.

It is my personal ritual as season change, I reflect upon the past and set intentions for the future. As I say goodbye to summer and fall begins, I’ve chosen this book and it’s principles to guide me through this next season of growth process.

‘The Four Agreements’ in practice help free me, giving me the courage to follow my dreams. Traveling, exploring, listening and living my truth are made easier through this work.  Yet I still have a way to go. Be impeccable with your word… the things that come out of my mouth. I’ve got a silver tongue…guilty of gossip, oh yes. Don’t take anything personally, are you kidding. I’m learning to free the inner narcissist. Yet I always do my best, so I keep trying…daily.

If you are in need of a re-boot, or just a good read, I highly recommend this book. You’ll be blown away. It is simple, yet hard but I if you’re dedicated to living the life you choose, a life that inspires. The principles in “The Four Agreements” will provide that guidance.
